USD 408 Recognition Scholarship ProgramMissionThe Scholarship Fund’s purpose and goal is to support the next generation of USD 408 graduates in pursuing post-secondary education/training, while honoring/recognizing Alumni, Coaches and Staff of USD 408 who provided educational excellence to help us all lead successful and productive lives.
Marion High School Coaches’ Scholarship Program BecomesUSD 408 Recognition Scholarship Program
Established in 2003 by Warrior Alumni, after the passing of former Coach LeRoy Dreier, the Scholarship Fund was initially created to recognize and honor Marion High School (MHS) coaches for their successes and positive influence on MHS students. The Scholarship Fund currently recognizes nine (9) coaches, with more than $28,000 in scholarships awarded through the 2022-23 school year.
We are excited to announce that in partnership with the Marion Advancement Campaign Foundation (MAC), the Scholarship Fund is expanding to honor USD 408 staff and alumni, in addition to coaches, and that donations to the fund are now tax deductible. MAC partners with the Scholarship Fund advisory board to oversee administration and growth of the Scholarship Fund.
The plan is to continue the golf tournament tradition on the first Saturday in May of each year at the Marion Country Club to help grow the Scholarship Fund. We welcome donations and sponsorships from individuals and local businesses and appreciate the strong support of our golf tournament through the years.  Currently, scholarship awards are set in the amount of $750 each – and it is our desire that this amount increases as funding becomes available.
If a former USD 408 staff member/coach made a difference in your life, or you would like to have an alum recognized, please consider donating.
